Puente de Occidente

The Puente de Occidente (or Bridge of the West) is a beautiful suspension bridge from 1895 in the colonial town of Santa Fe de Antioquia in Colombia. Walking across the wooden pedestrian path and over the Cauca River transports one back in time.  One of the most curious facts about this bridge is that the Colombian engineer responsible for its construction also worked on the Brooklyn Bridge and applied his leanings from there to this amazing bridge.  Santa Fe de Antioquia is about 1.5 hours from Medellin and a definite must see!
